Saffronn Te Ratana Born 1975. Formative years spent with her family, constantly encouraged
in her art practice from a tender age by her artist father, Donn Ratana,
and her maternal grandmother, Janet Jamieson, who taught Saffronn media
techniques. Family support for Saffronn has been an important aspect
throughout her career, the family organising her first exhibition at
age fourteen. Regarded as an exceptional graduate of Massey Universities
Maori Visual Arts Programme, she is among the rising stars of the New
