This series is inspired by the triangular and crab claw sails of traditional Pacific waka or canoes. The series acknowledges Kiwa the great navigator, sailor of the great waters of the Pacific Ocean, known as Te Moana nui a Kiwa. An ever increasing network of indigenous artists around the Pacific Rim celebrate the Pacific as one of unifying factor that they share in common.
